Meet Boyan Kolusevic and Chris Mobley, co-owners of San Antonio, and Texas’, first urban craft distillery, Dorćol Distilling.
Kolusevic and Mobley had often mused about one day opening a distillery together. In 2011 the friends traveled to Belgrade to visit Kolusevic’s family and were immediately inspired to carry on the Kolusevic family tradition of homemade, handcrafted spirits. Fueled by their trip they took the plunge and opened Dorćol Distilling.
Dorćol’s inaugural spirit is Kinsman Apricot Rakia - a traditional apricot-based, Serbian liquor known as Rakija, though Kolusevic and Mobley refer to it as Texas’ first brandy. Determined to follow the traditional distilling process, the rakia is made in copper stills commissioned by a Serbian coppersmith and the apricots used to create its mash are grown and delivered from the Kolusevic family farm in Belgrade.
Since its opening in 2013 it has become a destination for Alamo City residents. Nestled in Southtown, the distillery houses a cocktail bar which showcases Dorćol’s award-winning spirits and craft cocktails, local music performers and local art shows.
At Cadillac, we celebrate those whose passion and vision have reshaped our city, our lives and our culture - including Kolusevic and Mobley’s creative, entrepreneurial spirit.
Their originality makes them some of the innovative and driving persons shaping San Antonio.
